During the Committee Of The Whole Session the council will hear about a proposal that came after the Rhythm City Casino on the Mississippi in the Quad City closed.  That left the entry barge the Casino unused and the city was asked if there was interest in having that facility.

In a memo to the council – City Administrator Matt Brooke said that after studying the issue and potential uses he is recommending the city NOT pursue the idea.  He said it would take from a half-million dollars to a million dollars investment with no return and the city could not support it without dropping other projects.
