The Clinton City Council has a business meeting and committee of the whole session Tuesday evening.

At the business meeting the council will consider the final approvals for increasing the compensation for council members and the mayor.  Those increases would be effective after the next election for those offices.

The council will also consider approval of helping to fund a downtown master plan and the O-K the downtown businesses using tax proceeds to purchase new holiday lighting.  Those funds for the lighting are raised thru additional taxes on the downtown area businesses but require the city to release the funding.

The committee of the whole session will include information on a proposed downtown facade improvement program and a question of whether the city will grant some type of exemption from sewer fees for the water used to fill a swimming pool.
