Work Planned on Highway 30 Bridge (Illinois DOT statement)

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work will take place on the US Route 30 bridge over the Mississippi River. Interstate Maintenance, Inc. will be completing the annual bridge washing of the structure on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, utilizing flaggers, for the duration of the expected one-day washing.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
