Clarification Issued On The Closing Of City Hall Until Monday Due to potential COVID 19 Exposure

1) This is precautionary as some staff had an unknown exposure on 7/8/20 even though they were protected. That staff then entered City Hall. It wasn’t until much later in the day that the City became aware of the situation.

2) The potential exposure for all City Hall staff is the purpose behind the closure of City Hall.

3) The Fire Department, Police Department and Public Works have all been extremely limited in public access. City Hall has the most foot traffic. Therefor, in the interest of the safety of public health, the decision was made to close City Hall through Monday to reassess the situation.

I would like to reiterate that this is a precautionary move. No one in City Hall has tested positive. We are taking these steps so that should our exposed staff become positive, the spread is limited.
