Camanche City Officials Take A Step Back Due To Increasing COVID19 Cases In The County (see full statement)

Camanche City Hall Operations

Due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases in Clinton County, the Camanche City Hall will remain closed to the public for walk in services. All city services will continue through phone, email or postal services until further notice. In-person appointments will be available on an as needed basis. In-person meetings will require citizens and staff to wear a mask and practie social distancing.

The Camanche City Council will resume meeting remotely via its online service. Please review the agendas as they become available for directions on how to attend those meetings. You will be able to attend by phone or by internet.

As of this press release, Clinton County has 137 positive cases with 1 death and 69 listed as recovered. That means there are 67 known positive cases active in Clinton County. (later updated by Clinton County Public Health officials to 138 cases and 45 active cases as Monday morning-and cases reported throughout the county -updated by KROS NEWS)

The City of Camanche has an obligation to continue to provide services as well as provide a safe work environment for its employees. Given the circumstances and increased positive cases in the area, we are making the decision to limit staff exposure.

This decision to limit public access to the building will be reassessed and re-determined as situations dictate.
