Unemployment rate drops

The number of people considered employed in Clinton and Clinton County increased from June to July.

The statistics from the Iowa Workforce Development Agency shows the unemployment rate across the county was 8-percent in July.  That was down from 9-point-9 percent in June.  There were about 120 more people listed as employed in July from the June numbers.  The eight percent unemployment in July compares to 3-point-5 percent in July 2019.

In Clinton the July unemployment rate was 9-point-2 percent and that was down from eleven-point-3 percent in June.  The number of people working also increased.
