Local Unemployment Rates Drop For September (latest month local stats are available)

Local unemployment statistics show more people working and fewer people in the labor force.

The latest local statistics from the Iowa Workforce Development Agency show the unemployment rate in Clinton County in September was 5.7 percent.  That’s down from 7.9 percent in August.  A year ago-in September 2019 the county’s unemployment rate was 3.7 percent.

The report shows more people employed with a drop in the overall workforce.

The city of Clinton there was a similar pattern of more people employed with a drop in the workforce.  That resulted in an unemployment rate in  the city of 6.7 percent.  That’s a drop from 9.2 percent in August.
