MercyOne honored as Industry Of The Year by CRDC

MercyOne in Clinton is the Clinton Regional Development Corporation’s Industry of the Year.  The award was announced at the organization’s annual meeting.

Vice President of Economic Development with the Clinton Regional Development Corp, Andy Sokolovich said MercyOne employs 950 people.  He said the medical organization addressed the coronavirus issues and added a new cancer treatment center in 2020.

Amy Berentes of MercyOne wanted to thank many of the business for their support during the pandemic.

Berentes said the hospital is finishing a third surge of coronavirus in the community and for patients at the hospital.  As part of the response-Berentes said they established a local testing center in four days because they realized how important it was.  With the hospital’s COVID response-Berentes was emotional in calling their health care workers heroes.

Berentes also thanked the community for supporting the new cancer treatment center that was completed in the midst of the pandemic.

CRDC Executive Director Erin Cole thanked Berentes and MercyOne for their efforts on behalf of the company.
