Preparations for hundreds or thousands of bikers to arrive in Clinton start to increase

With the Des Moines Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa now given the final confirmation the work of Clinton Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Leslie Webster gets busier.

She says there has been a lot work already in getting ready to host the end of the ride, but work will increase now.

Webster says volunteers are still needed.  The C-V-B Director says one specific volunteer is needed to help with the local RAGBRAI website and social media.

Webster says another specific need is a behind the scenes recording secretary.

Webster adds that both positions are volunteer – but would be a great resume addition.

The bike ride will overnight in DeWitt July 30th and the travel Highway 136 thru Charlotte and Goose Lake into Clinton and then to Pershing to 9th Avenue North to the river.

Webster says the city will also host many riders the week before on July 23rd as they arrive to park their vehicles here and head to the western state border to start the ride.

A logo for the local RAGBRAI efforts has been selected.  A design by Shanelle Yahn was selected.  The design had to included music, a lighthouse, paddlewheel with the colors of orange, blue and red.  The featured image is the new local RAGBRAI logo.
