The Camanche City Council approved a member of the Police Force as the new Police Chief. Richard Schmitz was formally appointed as the new chief.
Camanche City Administrator Andrew Kida says a committee of city officials interviewed three high quality candidates for the position.
Schmitz was sworn in as the Police Chief after the council vote
Later in the meeting – Schmitz expressed his thanks for the support.
He will be replacing Colin Reed who recently announced his retirement
