Local unemployment rates fell from March to April.

The Iowa Workforce Development Agency report shows the unemployment rate in Clinton County in April was 4.9 percent.  That compares to 5.6 percent in March.

A year ago in April of 2020 the unemployment rate was 13.7 percent.

The report shows more people considered employed and fewer unemployed.

In the city it’s a similar update with more people considered employed and fewer unemployed.

In Clinton the unemployment in April was 5.4 percent and that’s down from 6 percent in March.
