Clinton County Emergency Notification System (link included for signup)

Clinton County residents are being urged to register or re-register for special alert notification system. Upgrades to the Alert Iowa system mean a new signup is needed.

Clinton County Emergency Management Coordinator Chance Kness says the program has been in use since 2015 but a new vendor will help provide more services.

Kness says when you sign up you for choose the types of alerts you receive from various weather alerts to other types of emergency notifications.

The local E-M-A Coordinator says in addition the general alerts they can target alerts.

Kness says there are some limitations dependent on technology and carriers.  Kness says there are other sources for these types of alerts but this system is more local and they hope quicker.

The Clinton County Emergency Management Agency Director says even if you were signed up under the old system you will have to sign up under the new system.
