Local Unemployment Rates Increase Slightly

Local unemployment rates went up in May compared to April.  In Clinton County and the city of Clinton the employment stayed stable while the number of people in the workforce increased.  Month Labor Data-May 2021

In Clinton County the latest report showed an unemployment rate of 5.2 percent in May.  That compares to 5 percent in April.  It is down from a year ago when the unemployment rate in the county was 10.5 percent.

In the city of Clinton the unemployment rate went from 5.5 percent in April to 6 percent in May.
