County Cleanup Efforts To Get A Break On Disposal Of Those Items

Larger cleanup efforts in Clinton County can get a break on disposing of the material picked-up in those efforts.

The Board of the Clinton County Solid Waste Agency has approved a program to waive the landfill fees for those efforts.

Solid Waste Agency Director Brad Seward says it is not for a household – but for larger efforts.

Seward says a group involved in such a clean-up effort must apply and be approved 7 to 14 days before the effort.

Seward says they also are encouraging recycling items in the clean-up efforts.  The Solid Waste Agency Director says youth groups involved on a clean up effort can also take advantage of the program if there is an adult leader of the effort.

Seward says you can contact the agency at 243-4749 or check the agency website for information.

The program was announced on the city produced City Watch program heard each Saturday morning on KROS.
