Sister Act  June 2 – 12

Sister Act is the feel-good musical comedy smash based on the hit 1992 film. When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent. Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with her new, rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior. But using her unique style and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and its community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the special power of her newly found sisters.

Calendar Girls  June 16 – 26

Based on the true story of eleven middle-aged women’s club members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest selling play in British theatre history. When Annie’s husband John dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for the local hospital. They manage to persuade four friends to pose nude with them for an “alternative” calendar, with a little help from hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence. The news of the women’s charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on their small village in the Yorkshire Dales.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s State Fair  June 30 – July 17

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s only musical written directly for the screen is now a stage musical that’s received critical raves from coast to coast. Set against the colorful backdrop of an Iowa tradition, State Fair travels with the Frake family as they leave behind the farm for three days of life-changing adventure at the 1946 Iowa State Fair. Mom and Dad have their hearts set on blue ribbons, while their children, Margy and Wayne, find romance and heartbreak on the midway. Set to the magical strains of an Academy Award-winning score with thrilling dance arrangements, State Fair is the kind of warm-hearted family entertainment only Rodgers & Hammerstein could deliver!

The Wedding Singer  July 21 – July 31

Like this year’s Showboat hit All Shook Up, The Wedding Singer will send you out singing, dancing and all smiles. It’s 1985, and struggling songwriter, Robbie Hart, is working as New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of every blue-collar party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie’s magic is gone, and he starts making every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who pulls him out of the dumps–and in one scene out of a dumpster. But as fate would have it, Julia is about to be married to a white-collar Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

The World Goes ‘Round: The Songs of Kander & Ebb  August 4 – 14

The World Goes ‘Round is a stunning revue of the songbook from the multi-Tony award-winning team, John Kander and Fred Ebb. From Cabaret to Chicago, the nonstop hit-parade features their unforgettable gems, including “All That Jazz,” “Maybe This Time,” “Cabaret” and “New York, New York,” seamlessly interwoven into a passionate, harmonious, up-tempo evening of musical theatre. Filled with humor, romance, drama and endless melodies, this show is a thrilling celebration of life and the fighting spirit that keeps us all going.
