The City/School Candidates Are Set for Clinton & Camanche

Thursday was the deadline for candidates to file their nomination paperwork.

The Clinton City Council ballot is set and there will be one contested race.  Two candidates are seeking the First Ward seat.  Current At-Large council member Bill Schemers is seeking the First Ward seat this time and Samuel Peters is also seeking the post.

Cody Seeley is seeking election to the Second Ward seat after being appointed to the position.  Ron Mussman who was appointed the 3rd Ward seat is also seeking election to the position.

There are two At-Large seats on the ballot and Nancy Witt and Eartha Davis will be on the ballot.

There are four seats on the ballot for the Clinton School Board and six candidates filed nomination petitions to run.

Ann Reed is the only incumbent running for another term and the other candidates include Andy Fergurson – Tarron Borgeson – Jennifer Austin – Kenyon Clarke – Marlee Nimmick

In Camanche there are three council seats on the ballot plus the Mayor’s post.  The Three incumbents – David Bowman, Brent Brightman and Danny Weller filed nomination papers and Robert Determann and Jenny Hesse also filed to run for the council.

Current Mayor Trevor Willis did not file to seek another term.  On the ballot for the Camanche Mayor will be Justin McClure, Austin Pruett and Paul Varner.

On the Camanche School Board there are three seats on the ballot and four people filed to run.

Those candidates include Stacy Kinkaid-a current member of the school board – plus  Rich Klahn; Janna Linville; and Kelli Sullivan.

The combined city and school board election is November 2nd.
