February Unemployment Rates Drop

Local unemployment rates followed the state trends and dropped in February.
In Clinton County the unemployment rate for February was 4.5 percent.  That’s down from 5.5 percent in January.  there were about 230 more people employed in February than in January in Clinton County with about 100 of those in Clinton.

In the city the unemployment rate dropped from 5.2 percent in January to 4.3 percent in February.

In February 2021 the county unemployment rate was 6.3 percent.

The state unemployment rate dropped once again in February.

The state wide unemployment rate for February one year ago was four-point-four percent.
