Motor Vehicle Accident

On January 26, 2024, at approximately 4:32 p.m., the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to
Highway 30 and 330th Avenue, De Witt for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving two
vehicles. Upon arrival deputies discovered a Chevrolet Avalanche and a Ford Focus were involved in
the crash. The drivers from both vehicles and a passenger from the Avalanche were transported to the
Mercy One Emergency Department in Clinton for treatment of injuries sustained from the accident.
The names of those involved in the accident are not being released at this time.
Westbound Highway 30 was closed for approximately 3 hours to conduct a motor vehicle accident
investigation.

The accident remains under investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Low Moor Fire Department,
Genesis (De Witt) Ambulance, Clinton Fire Department Ambulance, De Witt Police Department, and
the Iowa State Patrol.
