Fall at Eagle Point Park

Clinton Fire Department (CFD) was dispatched to Eagle Point Park, north of the Lodge, for reports of a 15-year-old male who had fallen from the bluff.

CFD responded with ten personnel, two ambulances, one rescue trailer, one off-road utility vehicle, and a command vehicle. Initial reports indicated the patient was near the railroad tracks, north of the Lodge. Canadian Pacific railroad shut all traffic down for the duration of the incident.

Clinton Police Department (CPD) arrived on scene first, initiated patient care, and directed CFD personnel to the patient. While on scene advanced life support was given to the patient before transporting. CFD transported the patient to Deer Creek East, where care was transferred to University of Iowa personnel.

CFD would like to take this opportunity to remind the community of the dangers associated with the park’s cliffs and to remain alert while recreating in the park.
