Residential Solid Waste Service Fee Adjustment

The Clinton City Council has approved an adjustment to residential solid waste service fees to ensure continued reliable and sustainable service.

At its May 26, 2026 meeting, the Council adopted Resolution No. 2026-304, which updates monthly solid waste rates effective July 1, 2026.

The adjustment reflects increasing costs associated with providing solid waste services, including labor, equipment, maintenance, fuel, and landfill tipping fees.

Under the approved rates, the City Service Fee will increase from $9.44 to $10.44 per month, and the Garbage Cart Fee will increase from $8.21 to $9.21 per month, for a total monthly residential charge of $19.65.

The modest increase was recommended following a review of program costs to maintain current service levels and support long-term sustainability of the City’s solid waste program.

Residents will see the updated rates reflected in utility billing statements beginning in July 2026.
