CLINTON, Iowa – A Princeton, Iowa, man has been charged after shooting into a SUV in a Kwik Star parking lot, police say.
Clinton police officers went to the Kwik Star on Lincoln Way for a report of shots fired around 4:45 p.m., according to a media release.
When police got there, they found a black SUV with what looked like damage from a crash in the parking lot, according to court documents.
Officers found Andy G. Simmons, 34, and learned he was the driver of the black SUV.
Police said Simmons told officers he shot into a white SUV, after a disturbance as the driver was leaving the parking lot.
Simmons got out of his SUV and shot several rounds into the windshield and driver’s door of the other vehicle, police said.
No one was hurt and police said the public isn’t in danger.
Simmons is charged with felony intimidation with a dangerous weapon, injure/provoke. He has bonded out of the Clinton County Jail Monday.
Police said another person was arrested in connection to the shooting. The person’s identity is unknown at this time.
