CLINTON, Iowa – A ribbon cutting is always a great way to celebrate a new business, but there is a lot that happens before the scissors come out.
For Maria, the journey started with an idea. Through EntreFuel, a Grow Clinton program in partnership with NewBoCo, she was able to work through that idea and take the steps needed to become a business owner.
Alex Taylor worked with Maria throughout the process, helping her develop her business idea and navigate the many steps that come with starting a business. From those early conversations to opening her doors, Taylor was there to help Maria keep moving forward.
“Starting and running a business is hard work, and Maria was willing to put in the effort. She was not afraid to ask for help and took advantage of the EntreFuel resources. Through NewBoCo and Grow Clinton, she was able to build her plan, secure a KIVA loan to fund her initial expenses, and now get launched. This is exactly how the partnership between Grow Clinton and NewBoCo should work,” said Taylor.
Now, that idea has become a real business serving the Clinton community.
Maria’s business also marks an important milestone for EntreFuel. She is the first entrepreneur to open a business with support from the EntreFuel program and its partnership with NewBoCo.
At Grow Clinton, we know that starting a business takes more than a good idea. It takes time, planning, resources, and support along the way. EntreFuel was created to help provide that support and connect local entrepreneurs with the tools and resources they need to move their ideas forward.
Maria’s success is a great example of what can happen when a local entrepreneur has an idea and the right support to help turn it into a business. Grow Clinton is proud to have been part of her journey and looks forward to seeing her business grow and become part of the Clinton community.
Congratulations to Maria on this exciting new chapter!
