Shots fired in Grand Mound

On October 4, 2026, at approximately 3:34 a.m., the Clinton County Sheriffs Office was dispatched to the 400 block of Fulton Street in Grand Mound, Iowa, in response to a report of shots fired.

During the investigation, deputies determined that multiple shots had been fired from a vehicle into an occupied residence at 411 Fulton Street. Deputies located numerous bullet holes in the residence. There were seven people inside the residence at the time ofthe shooting; fortunately, no persons inside the residence were injured.

As a result of the investigation, deputies took a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old male into custody. Both juveniles have been charged with one count of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, a Class C Felony. Additional charges are pending as the investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident, not a random act. There is no known ongoing threat to the public.
