June Was Warmer Than Normal

June 2020 is the 15th warmest June in the Clinton weather records to 1879.

Clinton Area Weather Observer Jim Blaess says the overall temperature for the month was 74 degrees.  He says that’s 2.7 degrees above the normal of 71.3.

The highest temperature was 92 degrees on the June 2nd.   Blaess says there were 3 days with 90 or above temperatures and the normal is 4 days.

The Weather Observer says it was also a dry month. Blaess says there was 2.72 inches of rain.  He says the is 1.88 inches below the normal of 4.60.

Blaess says that makes June the 36th driest in the Clinton records to 1878.

For the first six months of the year Blaess says there’s been 16.61 inches of precipitation.  That’s just near the normal of 16.91 inches.

 

In July, Blaess says you can expect 3.6 inches of rain and 6 days of 90 or above temperatures.

He says the average high and low remain steady over the month.  But, Blaess adds the time of daylight starts to fall by nearly 20 minutes from the beginning of the month to the end of the month.
