Polling Site Announced for Camanche School Bond Issue; Absentee Voting Begins

(see full statement from the Clinton County Elections Office)– The polling location for the September 8, 2020, Camanche Community School District referendum will be the Camanche Community Center, 323 9th Ave., Camanche.

“This is not a traditional polling location for the voters in the Camanche area,” said Clinton County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Eric Van Lancker. “However, factors mostly related to the COVID-19 pandemic, have forced us to move our voting to a new location.”

The Camanche Community Center will be open to voters on September 8 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters in the Camanche Community School District will have an opportunity to vote on a $13.435 million bond issue for improvements to the elementary school and high school September 8.

Voters who wish to vote absentee may do so starting August 10. Voters may vote in person in the Clinton County Auditor’s Office in the Clinton County Administration Building, 1900 N. 3rd St., Clinton, during regular business hours.

Van Lancker said voters are encouraged to vote absentee by mail due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He said absentee ballot requests can be sent in now. Ballots are able to be mailed starting August 10.

Voters need to request an absentee ballot. Absentee ballot request forms can be found at this website: https://clintoncountyelections.com/vote/absentee/. A voter can also call the Clinton County Auditor’s Office at 563-244-0568 to request an absentee ballot request form be sent to them. Requests for an absentee ballot to be sent by mail must be received before 5 p.m. on August. 28.
