Grant To Build Roads To Industrial Park

Clinton City Officials say a state grant awarded Tuesday will be a major benefit to the development of the Railport Industrial Park. And could lead the announcement of a new industry at the site.

The State DOT awarded the city a grant of about 2-point-8 million dollars for extending roads to and into the industrial park.

The award was announced at the Clinton City Council meeting.  Mayor Scott Maddasion says the roads will be aid access to the park and be an access for a new development that could be announced soon.

Clinton City Administrator Matt Brooke added the development agreement with the company could be finalized in the near future.
