Clinton County Responds to Severe Weather Friday

CLINTON — The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for people to stay home tonight following a strong storm system that went through Clinton County Friday, March 31, 2023.

First responders are still responding to downed lines and trees down across roads. The public is asked to stay out of the area of Charlotte and Andover.

The public is asked to call 911 for any downed power lines or downed trees across the roads.

The Clinton County Emergency Operation Center (EOC) opened earlier in the day to monitor the storm. Clinton County first responders were also sent out across the County to watch for the severe weather and stayed in constant contact with the EOC and Clinton County Communications.

Almost immediately first responders were sent to a house that collapsed on people north of Grand Mound. Clinton County Secondary Roads Department was called to assist that rescue.
