Purina Team in Clinton Celebrates Annual Day of Service with 45 Volunteer Hours to Support Eagle Point Park and the Clinton Humane Society
Clinton, Iowa (June 8, 2026) – For more than 130 years, Purina has been committed to giving back in
its communities and enriching the lives of pets and people. This year, team members from the Clinton factory took part in the company’s 25th annual Purina Cares Day, dedicating 45 hours of volunteering and engaging in community service.
Purina associates participated in cleaning and beautifying Eagle Point Park by raking the pond, spraying and trimming weeds cleaning out the dog splash area and more. The team also held a fundraiser for the Clinton Humane Society.
Eagle Point Park is the historic jewel of the Clinton Parks System, located at the north side of the city on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Established in 1888 by the Clinton and Lyons Railway, the park provides a variety of facilities, many of which are unique within the overall park system.
“The Purina employees were incredibly helpful and accomplished a lot — from weed spraying and trimming to removing invasive growth along fence lines and cleaning the small dog yard water play area,” said Pam Wisor, project organizer for Eagle Point Park. “They’re true hard workers and a godsend to us.”
Purina Cares Day is one of many ways Purina supports communities where our employees live and work. In 2026, the company is also celebrating 100 years of Dog Chow, a testament to Purina’s enduring commitment to pet health and nutrition. The company donates more than $30 million annually in financial and in-kind support to pet-related and community nonprofit organizations across the country. The Purina factory in Clinton employs more than 650 local associates.
“We are so grateful to have the day to give back to the community we call home,” said Candace Claeys, factory manager, Purina. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with these organizations and our commitment to Clinton.”
