The Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner, with the assistance of the Clinton Police Department, has confirmed the identification of the body which was discovered near Eagle Point Park in Clinton to be that of William Hindley based on circumstantial evidence. Confirmatory DNA studies are pending. An autopsy was performed on April 28th, 2014 by Dr. Michele Catellier, who determined the cause and manner of death to be undetermuined. No signs of trauma or foul play were identified during the examination/investigation. The body was discovered by a resident who was mushroom hunting around 11 am on April 27th in a wooded area in Clinton near Eagle Point Park.
