Partial Road Closure – Harrison Drive

A natural gas leak occurred earlier today along Harrison Drive. The incident resulted from an accidental breach of a major gas line by a private drilling contractor operating in the vicinity.

As a precautionary measure to ensure public safety, Harrison Drive has been closed to all vehicular traffic between South 21st Street and Lincolnway. This closure also restricts access to nearby establishments, including Legends and Bonnie’s, until further notice.

Alliant Energy personnel are currently on-site conducting a thorough assessment and initiating remediation efforts. At this time, there is no projected timeline for the reopening of the affected corridor.

The City of Clinton strongly advises residents and travelers to avoid the area and comply with posted detours and the instructions of emergency personnel.

We extend our gratitude to the public for their patience and cooperation as response teams work diligently to address the situation and restore safe conditions.
