Structure Fire 236 North 6th Street

On April 30, 2025 the Clinton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 236 North 6th Street. Multiple 911 callers reported flames and possible occupants inside. Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire showing from several areas of the two-story home and immediately requested a second alarm and utility assistance.

Crews knocked down the fire quickly and conducted thorough searches of the structure. All occupants were accounted for. One individual on scene was assessed and refused transport. One firefighter sustained a minor injury, was treated at the ER, and released. One cat was rescued and returned her owner.

Due to the nature of the incident, the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office is leading the investigation. Clinton Police Department also responded and assisted on scene.

Mutual aid was provided by Fulton Fire for RIT and support operations. Red Cross and 1-800-Board-Up are assisting the displaced residents.
