Timber Lake Playhouse Kicks Off Electrifying Summer with “Saturday Night Fever The Musical”

Mount Carroll, IL (May 25, 2025) – Timber Lake Playhouse, Illinois’ premier professional summer theatre, opens its highly anticipated season next week with the iconic hit musical, Saturday Night Fever, running May 30 through June 15, 2025. Step onto the dance floor and journey back to the vibrant era of disco and the 1970s as TLP presents this exhilarating adaptation based on the Academy Award-nominated Paramount/RSO film. Featuring timeless hits by The Bee Gees, audiences will be transported by the dynamic choreography, sensational performances, and unforgettable music.

Directed by TLP’s Artistic Director, Tommy Ranieri (Winner of Broadway World Chicago Award for Best Musical and Best Direction of a Musical for TLP’s Jekyll & Hyde), and 8215 Black Oak Rd, Mount Carroll, IL 61053 | Box Office: 815-244-2035 | www.timberlakeplayhouse.org choreographed by Chaz Wolcott (TLP’s The Wizard of Oz and Broadway National Tours of CATS & Disney’s Newsies), Saturday Night Fever captures the essence of Brooklyn youth as they navigate dreams, love, and identity. The musical stars Tanner Gleeson as Tony Manero, alongside Channing Weir as Stephanie Mangano, and Allison Dorsey as Annette. The talented ensemble includes actors from across the region and beyond, providing a vibrant and authentic portrayal of youth in the ’70s. Local actors include, Christopher Tracy (Frank Manero Sr.) [De Witt], Angie Miller (Flo Manero) [Sterling] & Richard Betts (Mr. Fusco) [Oregon].

Ranieri highlights the personal resonance of bringing this show to TLP: “As an Italian-American whose family first settled in Brooklyn’s Bay Ridge area, this production is deeply personal, filled with nostalgic detail and heartfelt authenticity. It honors my ancestors’ journeys and their dreams of creating a better life for each generation that followed through the undying passion of the arts and performance.” Ranieri invites patrons, many of whom experienced this transformative decade firsthand, to reconnect with memories of their own youth. “Theatre is most powerful when it bridges generations,” Ranieri says, “allowing us all to see ourselves reflected on stage.”

The creative team includes Scenic Designer Joshua Warner, Costume Designer Matthew Solomon, Lighting Designer Abi Farnsworth, Sound Designer Nick Feldmann, and Music Director Matt Surico, among others, ensuring a dazzling, immersive production.
