MTA to Offer Free Demand Response Rides During Highway 136 Bridge (North Bridge) Closure

The City of Clinton Municipal Transit Administration (MTA) is offering free demand

response transportation for the public during the closure of the Highway 136 Bridge (North Bridge) for repairs.

This temporary service is available to individuals who are unable to travel between the City of Clinton and the City of Fulton via the designated detour route. Eligible riders may reserve a no-cost bus trip between Clinton and Fulton for the duration of the bridge closure.

MTA’s demand response rides will operate during the agency’s regular service hours:

Monday through Friday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (last trip departs at 5:00 PM)
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (last trip departs at 2:45 PM)

To schedule a ride, individuals should contact MTA dispatch at 563-242-3721. Rides may be reserved up to 14 days in advance. Same-day ride requests will be accommodated based on driver availability. Riders are encouraged to schedule at least 24 hours in advance to ensure availability.

When calling to reserve a ride, please provide your name, phone number, and pick-up/drop-off address, and mention that the trip is related to the Highway 136 Bridge (North Bridge) repairs.
