CLINTON, IOWA. (July 22, 2025) – For more than 130 years, Nestlé Purina has been committed to giving back to its communities and enriching the lives of pets and people. This year, team members from the Clinton factory took part in the company’s 24th annual Purina Cares Day by dedicating an entire day to volunteering and engaging in community service.
Thirty Purina associates invested an estimated 240 hours to improve Prairie Pastures Dog Park in Clinton, volunteering to garden and repair fences, restoring the park to its full potential.
“Purina is proud to be able to make an impact in the city where we live and work,” said Justin Wilkinson, Purina Clinton factory manager. “It was so amazing to see our associates come together to support the community and ensure local pets have a safe and beautiful place to play. It was a great day of teamwork with associates coming together for pets and people alike.”
In addition to these efforts, Purina team members participated in the Clinton Humane Society’s “Adopt a Cage” program, which raised critical funds to enhance pet care and welfare services in the area. Through these meaningful contributions, Purina associates were able to help support pets with a total of 10 cages.
“Purina Clinton made a true difference for the humane society and the community,” said Jamie Glover, Clinton Humane Society board member. “The support for the ‘Adopt a Cage’ program will provide medicine, food and grooming care for pets while they await their forever home.”
The Purina Clinton factory opened its doors in 1969 and employs more than 600 local associates who are proud to support these local initiatives and produce quality, nutritious pet food brands including Beyond, Fancy Feast and Pro Plan Live Clear.
