School Bus accident

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at approximately 7:33 a.m., Clinton County Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of380th Avenue and 220th Street in Elvira for a reported accident involving a Northeast Community School District bus and another vehicle.

The investigation revealed that the school bus was turning north onto 380th Avenue when it was struck by a vehicle traveling south at the intersection.

No injuries were reported among the students on the school bus, who were transferred to another bus and taken to Northeast School. The driver of the southbound vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy One for treatment. The accident remains under investigation pending citations.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Clinton Police Department, the Iowa
State Patrol, Clinton County Secondary Rods Department, Low Moor First Responders, and Dewitt
Ambulance.
