Mommsen will seek another term in Iowa House

DeWitt, IOWA– Today, Representative Norlin Mommsen (R-DeWitt) announced he will seek another term in the Iowa House of Representatives. Mommsen first began serving in the Iowa House in 2015.

“It is my honor to serve my district and the great state of Iowa,” Mommsen said in a statement. “We’ve accomplished many great things to keep Iowa moving forward, including providing historic tax relief, responsible budgeting, and standing strong for Iowa farmers. I’m asking for another term to continue being your voice in Des Moines and deliver on your priorities.”

Speaker Pat Grassley (R-New Hartford) expressed his support for Representative Mommsen.

“Norlin is a valuable member of the House Republican caucus,” Grassley said. “He has almost ten years of leadership in the Iowa House and has overseen the state’s agriculture budget for almost the same amount of time, which is a testament to his dedication to Iowa farmers, rural Iowa, and the state of Iowa as a whole.”

Representative Mommsen was first elected to the Iowa House in 2014. During his time in the Iowa House, Mommsen has been a leading advocate for Iowa taxpayers, farmers, agriculture, and Iowa jobs. He has served as the Chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee since 2016. Additionally, Mommsen serves on the Agriculture, Appropriations, Natural Resources, and Transportation committees.

Mommsen began farming over 30 years ago. He worked in agriculture retail for almost a decade before returning to farming and raising cattle. He and his wife, Denise, have five children.
