The City would like to inform residents, businesses, and travelers of upcoming traffic impacts related to the 2nd Avenue South Sewer Project, being completed by BWC.
Beginning on Monday, January 13, 2026, the intersection of 2nd Avenue South and South 7th Street will be closed to all traffic. In addition, the 700 block of South Bluff Boulevard will be closed to thru traffic during this time.
These closures are necessary to safely and efficiently complete sewer infrastructure improvements as part of the ongoing project. The closures are expected to remain in effect through April 1, 2026, weather permitting.
Detour routes will be posted, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and plan for additional travel time. Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained whenever possible.
The City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this important infrastructure improvement project.
