On February 17, 2026, at approximately 9:02 p.m., officers from the Clinton Police Department and personnel from the Clinton Fire Department responded to a reported gunshot wound in the 500 block of 22nd Avenue N. in Clinton, Iowa.
Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services provided immediate care and transported the individual to MercyOne Medical Center. The injuries were fatal. All known parties involved in the incident have been identified and located.
Based on the evidence obtained so far, authorities do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public. Currently, the investigation remains active. No further information is being released at this time.
