Discovery Center Omelet Breakfast this Sunday

The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center, “Clinton, Iowa’s Children’s Museum!” will host the
38th annual Omelet Breakfast Fundraiser this Sunday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Discovery Center, 332 8th Avenue South, in Downtown Clinton.

Guests can dine in the Discovery Center, carry out, or to order ahead for pickup. Tickets also include admission to stay and play in the children’s museum.

Proceeds will go toward the Discovery Center’s important project for this year: a new Public Safety Exhibit for children and families, at the children’s museum. It will feature a neighborhood setting and will include a law enforcement center, a fire station, an emergency communication center, a health clinic, and more.

Each area will feature hands-on interactive play designed to strengthen safety knowledge for families, as well as increase children’s comfort with public safety professionals and their jobs to serve and protect.
The exhibit is currently in the plan and design stage, and is being created with guidance from city and county agencies, and area businesses including Clinton County Sheriff Department, Clinton County Communications, Clinton County Emergency Management, Clinton Police Department, Clinton Fire Department, MercyOne, and others.

The omelet breakfast is a 38-year fundraising tradition for the Discovery Center. Guests will enjoy a delicious breakfast menu which includes: made-to-order omelets with your choice of ingredients; big, golden pancakes; sausage links; crushed pineapple, fresh-baked pastries; and drinks for those dining in, including orange juice, milk, and coffee.

A special team of volunteers will be on hand to cook the individual omelets for guests and serve the meal. Many are local community leaders and elected officials who will donate their time to support the children’s museum.

Tickets for the breakfast are: Adults and Teens $17, but only $15 if purchasing with cash or check; Children 12 years and younger $7, but only $6 if purchasing with cash or check.

Lind says the fees for credit card and online processing can be saved if paying with cash or check, and that the Discovery Center will pass that savings on to guests.

Tickets are available at the Discovery Center, and at four Clinton National Bank locations, Main Branch, Lyons, Lincolnway, and Camanche.

The 38th Annual Omelet Breakfast Fundraiser is made possible by many area business and individual sponsors, including: 1st Gateway Credit Union, A.C. Root Insurance, ADM, Broken Spoke Antiques, Casey’s, Citizens First Bank, Clinton National Bank, The Mac-KCLN Radio, KROS Radio, Kwik Star, RHA Service, Mr. Ray Franklin, and Mrs. Pat Reynolds.
