Emergency Water Usage Notice – City of Andover

The City of Andover is currently experiencing a critical issue with the main well water pump. The pump is failing and must be replaced. A replacement pump has been secured, and installation is being scheduled; however, an exact installation date has not yet been confirmed.
During this time, it is essential that all residents immediately reduce water usage to help maintain supply. Without significant conservation efforts, the well could fail entirely, resulting in a complete loss of water service for the community until the new pump is installed.
We are asking all residents to take the following actions:
• Avoid flushing toilets for liquid waste when possible
• Take shorter showers
• Do not fill bathtubs
• Postpone laundry and dishwashing when possible
• Limit all non-essential water use
• Turn off faucets when not in use and fix any leaks immediately
Every gallon saved helps extend the availability of water for essential needs and protects the system from total failure.
This is a temporary but urgent situation. The City will provide updates as soon as an installation date is confirmed and progress is made.
We appreciate your immediate attention and cooperation. Please do your part to conserve water.
