Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) has named Michael Beane, EdD, as its next vice chancellor of student services following a national search.
Beane has more than 16 years of higher education experience across three community college systems. He’s spent the past six years at EICC and currently serves as dean of students, leading teams focused on student access, success, and completion.
“Mike has demonstrated a steady commitment to our students, our mission, and the people who make this place work every day,” said Chancellor Bryan Renfro, PhD. “I have every confidence he will continue to serve EICC well in this new role.”
In the position, Beane will lead student services across the district and support ongoing work to strengthen how EICC serves students from the day they enroll to the day they graduate. He will fully transition into the role over the next few months.
EICC serves approximately 12,000 students each year who attend credit and non-credit programs on three main campuses and eight off-campus facilities. Founded in 1965, the college offers transfer programs, career and technical education, adult education, and workforce training across eastern Iowa.
“I’m honored to serve EICC in this role,” Beane said. “I look forward to collaborating with teams across the district to enhance the student experience, promote student success, and empower students to achieve their goals.”
His appointment marks a continued investment in strengthening student support and outcomes across EICC.
