On May 07, 2026, at approximately 11:51 AM., officers from the Clinton Police Department and personnel from the Clinton Fire Department responded to a report of a subject shot at 214 Fayette St. Clinton, Iowa.
Upon arrival, first responders located a 15-year-old juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services provided immediate care and transported the individual to MercyOne Medical Center. The injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Preliminary investigation indicates that individuals known to each other inside the residence were handling firearms when one individual was shot. All known parties involved in the incident have been identified and located.
Based on the evidence obtained, authorities do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
Caleb Davis has been arrested and charged with Reckless use of a firearm (D felony) and Assault while displaying a weapon (Aggravated misdemeanor).

Criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
